Thursday, December 17, 11:30 a.m. at B’nai Israel
Shawn, a Navajo and a member of our Congregation, founded this dance troupe in 1993. They have performed extensively in the Southwest, at the Indian Summer Festival in Milwaukee and were one of the eight groups invited to perform at the September 2004 grand opening of the Smithsonian National Museum of the American Indian in Washington, DC. In addition to the dancing, Shawn will play a selection on his flute and speak on the significance and the spirituality of the dances.
Prior to the program, a traditional Chanukah luncheon, prepared by the B’nai Israel Sisterhood cooks, will be served. The cost for the luncheon is $12 per person. Reservations should be made to Fernie Caplan no later than December 14. Reservation forms are available at the B’nai Israel office, or contact Fernie.
